Chef Lalo, of El Cabo Verde, & Mixologist Audrey DeLaune, of Mae & Co./Heron Restaurant, have been selected to compete in this year’s Food Prize Dining Experience, Come & Get It. A part of Prize Fest, the event features six semi-finalist chefs teaming up with six celebrity mentor chefs to create amazing dishes, which will be voted on by attendees. Five local mixologists will also craft one-of-a-kind cocktails for attendees to taste and vote on. The Food Prize will be held Wednesday, October 14th at Remington Suite Hotel (220 Travis St).
Lalo de los Santos
Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, Abelardo, Lalo carries his homeland’s culinary heritage into every kitchen. His career began over a decade ago under Chef Gabriel Balderas of Zuzul Coastal Cuisine and El Cabo Verde.
Audrey DeLaune
Audrey is the head mixologist at Heron and Mae & Co, a dual restaurant concept created by former Golden Fork-winner chef Blake Jackson.
