🚨Attention artists, farmers, growers, and makers! Our vendor application form is now open for the Spring and Summer Markets. Dates are April 20, May 18th, and June 15th 2023. Markets typically run from 4-8 pm. This spring/summer farmers market is open to farmers, makers, and local artists and others who have articles for sale that are compatible with fresh Louisiana, Southern Arkansas, and East Texas Homegrown produce and products. This includes other foodstuffs, plants, flowers, arts and crafts, handmade goods and/or services that are of high quality. The application is up on our website under the event tab.

Did you know? The @montessori.shreveport South campus located in Provenance welcomes children from 21 months to Kindergarten! Their main campus goes all the way to 8th grade. The Montessori School for Shreveport (MSS) is one of the oldest Montessori schools in the United States. It was founded in the fall of 1964 by Peggy and Norman V. Kinsey and Neilson S. Jacobs as a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation run by a Board of Trustees elected from the parent body.

Pioneers of The Montessori School for Shreveport established a school that would develop in children a blueprint for life, utilizing the unique Montessori method. Their goal remains our goal, for the school continues to help children with their life plans by providing a prepared Montessori environment, which meets the academic, emotional, physical, artistic, and spiritual needs of each child at his or her particular level of development. The school has programs for children from 21 months through the eighth grade and serves youngsters from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! The National Park Service features this historical info about the home where the venerable advocate for civil rights was born on January 15, 1929. Have you ever been? "In 1895 a two-story frame Queen Anne style house was built for a white family at 501 Auburn Avenue. The home was purchased in 1909 by Rev. Adam Daniel Williams, pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, for $3,500. Rev. Williams moved into the house with his wife Jennie Celeste and their 6 year old daughter Alberta Christine, their only child of three to survive infancy. On November 25, 1926 Christine married a minister by the name of Michael Luther King at her father's church. Instead of Christine moving in with her new husband he moved in with her and her parents in the family home. Over time the Kings would have three children born in the home, Willie Christine, Michael Jr. (later known as Martin Luther King, Jr.), and Alfred Daniel. On March 21, 1931 Rev. Williams dies in the home of a heart attack. After Mrs. Willies dies of a heart attack the Kings move to a new home at 193 Boulevard. The home stayed in the family and became rental property for the family. After Dr. King's assassination on April 4, 1968 plans were begun to restore the house as a historic museum. Today visiting the home where Dr. King was born and lived the first twelve years of his life is often the highlight of ones visit to the park."

Did you catch this story from Rick Rowe this morning? 🎄❤️♥️💚🐶🐾KTBS 3 and Rick Rowe featured a heart warming story about Holly the Christmas Dog. She had been dropped off and abandoned in Provenance, but found love and support from many neighbors. Holly had been traveling the neighborhood since the fall being fed regularly by the builders and residents. When one neighbor was lucky enough to catch Holly, she welcomed her into her home and earned her trust. The neighbors knew she had recently given birth to puppies, but had not been able to find them. Holly later led her new found friends to her puppies and they are looking for new homes! ♥️
