DESCRIPTION:Join us for\nPlant Forward Alternatives for Thanksgiving Demonstration and Tasting\nPresented by Chef Jennifer Gieseke and Provenance Realty Group\nOn Wednesday\, Nov. 16th from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the Provenance clubhouse\, Chef Jennifer Gieseke will host a demonstration and tasting for “Plant Forward Alternatives for Thanksgiving”. \nOnly 40 spots are available.\nTickets are $10 and funds from ticket sales will be donated to the NWLA Food Bank.\nGET TICKETS HERE\nMore about Jennifer Gieseke \nJennifer and her husband moved to Shreveport\, Louisiana from Chicago in 1991 and quickly started a family. With active children and a husband who traveled for business\, she found it hard to find time to prepare healthy family dinners. That’s when she started cooking in bulk quantities\, following a once-a-month cooking plan (that’s 30 meals in one day). The freezer was always full. After a busy day\, it was such a relief to know that dinner was basically ready. In 1997 she started working as a Personal Chef to help relieve some stress for other families. Jennifer began her plant-based journey when her daughter decided to become vegetarian at the age of 16. Her main concern was if her daughter could get all her essential nutrients (mainly calcium\, iron\, and protein) with this diet change. After learning about all the positive health benefits of a plant-based diet\, Jennifer quickly became a vegan. That all happened in 2010. In 2012 she created Healthy Chef Meals\, the first all vegan business and first prepared meal service in her region. After a successful 6 ½ years\, Jennifer decided to close Healthy Chef to pursue other ways to empower Northwest Louisianans and Eastern Texans to take control of their health through food. She immediately earned her Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate through e-Cornell Center for Nutrition Studies\, became a certified Health and Wellness Coach with a focus on plant-based nutrition through the International Integrative Nutrition School and a licensed Food for Life Instructor with Physicians Committee of Responsible Medicine (a dream of hers since the beginning of this journey). As a health educator\, personal chef and cooking class instructor\, Jennifer enjoys working with individuals and organizations\, helping the community reach their health and wellness goals through a whole foods\, plant-based diet.

Patrons explore areas throughout the parks and overlooks in the Provenance Neighborhood\, which is transformed into different “regions of the world”\, where wine\, food\, and music are paired together to pay homage to each locale. \nAn all-star roster of local chefs will be teaming up with some of the south’s best culinary talents to bring you not just one\, but two days of epic wine events. We work with some of our areas best wine buyers to pair the wines for each region. Local musicians showcase the cuisine and sounds inspired by each region of the world. A walkable event held outdoors in the scenic Provenance Neighborhood\, Catahoula Wine Mixer quickly established itself on the social calendars of Shreveporters with its 2017 debut. The cultural pillars of food\, drink\, art\, and music are all showcased by local chefs\, wine purveyors\, artists\, and musicians. \nOn Friday\, 8 chefs will line out an incredibly intimate 8 course meal\, paired with select wines from around the world\, all underneath the stars. Come enjoy a night you won’t forget eating\, drinking and celebrating the finer things. Tickets will go quick for this dinner\, so don’t miss out! \nOn Saturday\, patrons will enjoy the sights\, sounds\, and tastes of regions including California\, France\, South America and Italy.
