A new fine dining restaurant is coming to Shreveport.
Chef Blake Jackson announced Thursday, Nov. 7 that he‘ll be opening his second restaurant in south Shreveport’s Provenance Community. The restaurant, Heron, will combine the chef’s love of casual oyster dives and elevated fine dining restaurants.
Chef Jackson‘s more casual restaurant, Mae & Co., opened back in September and focuses on serving fresh oysters, fried chicken, po’boys, and other southern classics.
The new restaurant, Heron, will open Thursday, Nov. 14. It‘s a high-end seafood restaurant and leans into Chef Jackson’s passion for fresh fish/shellfish and supporting local farmers and ranchers. The chef also has a sentimental connection to the name of the restaurant.
“In the southern wild, the Great Blue Heron is a symbol of safe harbor. Herons are only staying still in places they know are safe. The last few years for me have been a journey. Changes in life. Changes in business. Yet, something about this place felt right. Heron is my nod to this next chapter. A place to land—for myself, and for the ones who grace our doors.”
Heron will feature coastal seafood, high-end beef, seasonal local harvests, and inventive global flavor combos. The restaurant will also feature wine and cocktails. He encourages people to come experience “an unforgettable night at our table.”
The new restaurant is located at 1023 Provenance Blvd., Suite 200. Mae & Co. is located next door. Hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 5 pm til close. Phone: (318) 918-3887. Website: www.heronprovenance.com
